Softball and BBQ

It has kind of become a tradition to play a family game of softball on Memorial day and Labor day when we are all in town.  After our run we stopped by the house for a few things and then headed to meet everyone.  There is a fun park by the Hughes that has a baseball field, a nice playground and a sprinkler.  We take turns helping with the kids and playing some baseball.  It was a beautiful day and not to hot, perfect for playing some ball.  There is always a lot of smack talking but really we are just having fun.  We try to play well but really none of us are really all that skilled. The kids usually come and go during the game.  They like to hit the ball and then play a little outfield.  They loose interest quickly and end up playing on the playground or in the water.

We all brought a bunch of snacks to share and we all laughed to find the kids dumped out the whole bag of goldfish on the blanket.  They were all happily eating away together.
The cousins always have so much fun playing together.  It makes me so happy they are such good friends and look forward to seeing each other.

All 13 cousins!  Last time we played Lauren was pregnant and Edward and Chloe were Griffin's age.
We stayed until about lunch time and then headed home to eat, take naps and get cleaned up.
We got together at my parents house for a BBQ and to celebrate Christy and Jordan's birthdays.  My Mom and lots of helpers made two amazing ice cream cakes.  They were so good!

The cousins had fun playing in the water together.  They had a bunch of squirt guns and we brought our sprinkler.
It was so fun to all be together during the weekend!  We were able to have lots of fun getting together several times.  I am so thankful everyone makes an effort to come in town and visit.
