5 Months!

Garrett is now 5 months old!! I am glad he isn't anything like Lucy because she was crawling at 5 months (she also got her first tooth just after turning 5 months). I don't think I am ready for him to be that active yet. Rolling around the living room is just great for now. Here are some picture of the 2 of them on Sunday after church.
Garrett really liked Lucy's dress and really wanted to put it in his mouth!
Love those blue eyes!
I am starting to love little boy church clothes as much as I love little dresses
Check out those dimples....and his drool on his vest.

This is just a random one of me and Garrett last week. Such a fun boy!
Just a little side note Garrett weighs about 17 pounds on our bathroom scale and is 27 3/4 inches tall. He grew over an inch since last month.

Fall Festival

Saturday evening the church where Lucy goes to Thursday school had a fall festival/trunk or treat. It was alot of fun and Lucy loved wearing her Elmo costume. She was excited to show JJ where she goes to school and to meet her teachers.

Lucy LOVED the cupcake walk. Even after she won her cupcake she wanted to just keep walking around and around in circles

Lisa and I did the cupcake walk too :) It was so fun to see our old neighbors, it sure made us miss them and all the fun times we had playing in the street.

It was a nice family activity and the church did a great job of provided a fun night!

No More Stitches

Saturday Morning Lucy got her stitches out. We are very happy with how well it is healing. It looks really good and has closed up really nice. We now just have to keep some neosporin on it without a band aid. (that is hard to do with someone as active as Lucy) We can't put a band aid on it because when you take the band aid off it tugs on the skin. I am thinking in another week I will have to put a band aid on at least at night time. She held SO still and was so brave that she got to have a treat after we were done. She picked out this donut with ball sprinkles.

Here are some other fun pictures from the same day, I didn't realize we had dressed them both in red.

What We've Been up to

In no real order or anything here are some random pictures from the past couple of days at our house. We have been keeping things low key this week. Going for nice walks, enjoying the nice weather and playing at home.
Garrett loves to watch Lucy play--great for me to be able to get some things done

Not A Day of Rest

We have all been fighting colds at our house the past couple of days. We had a rough night last night and didn't get much rest . We took today off Church (except JJ had to go teach the young men the last hour) and rested ,trying to get feeling better before we started another week. JJ got home and we ate lunch together. We then decided since the sun actually came out and the weather was so nice today that we should go for a walk around the neighborhood and get some fresh air. JJ took Garrett and Lucy out in the garage to get them in the stroller. JJ said to Lucy are you going to wear a jacket, I said yes she needs to wear a jacket it is chilly and she is getting over a cold. He told her to come back in the house and get her jacket. I was standing right there at the coat closet, I got her jacket and turned around to see Lucy running and then she slipped and fell smacking her forehead right on the brick step going from the garage to the house. I ran over and picked her up--immediately seeing how deep it was. Luckily we had a rag in the garage and we were able to put that right on it and apply some pressure. We hurried and got he car and went straight to the ER--I could tell this was to deep for a band aid or the urgent care. We waited for several hours and then we went back and sat in a room. The nurse thought since it was such a clean cut he might be able to glue it together. She asked if Lucy would leave it alone enough to not pick at it. But we needed to see what the Dr thought. Several more hours later the Dr finally came in and looked at it. He thought it was to deep for the glue-and he also said that with girls he likes to just put a stitch or two in because he can get a tighter heal and it will just heal better and not scar as much. I was happy to hear that it would look better with a stitch. I was thinking that the glue might not be enough and I didn't want to have to come back if it re-opened. Waited several more hours and they were able to numb it with a topical. They then came and put 2 stitches in. She was very very brave and held very still! They gave her a Popsicle and we were sent home. We left the house at 1 in the afternoon and arrived back at 6--just in time to warm up some good chicken noodle soup and get a couple hours of relaxation in before we start another busy week. Hopefully this week will not involve rocks in the nose, colds or stitches.

Sweet little Lucy while waiting in the ER waiting room!

Vision Walk

Yesterday we participated in the Vision Walk. JJ got 3 extra credit points if he went. So we went as a family and got some exercise. They had some fun things for the kids before the walk. Lucy got her face painted with Nemo on it.

She sat so still!

Here we are walking--we moved fast, I told him if we were going to do it we better walk it fast and get some exercise. We started at the very back and finished almost at the front--it took us about 30 minutes to do the 3 mile walk. Not bad--I think I walk faster then I run.

It was a chilly morning, Garrett slept most of the walk and then just enjoyed the walk and being all bundled up.

After the walk Lucy got out some energy at the playground.
