Peabody Ducks and the Trolley

Today for Mothers Group we went downtown to the Peabody hotel and watched the ducks march into the fountain. I have never been to see them so it was fun. They come down in the elevator and walk the red carpet and climb up into the fountain. They swim there all day and then at 5 they walk back into the elevator and go back to their home on the top floor. Here were are waiting for the ducks to come down.

After seeing the ducks come down into the fountain we took a fun trolley ride with the kids.

It was a fun day and Lucy loves talking about the ducks. I am sure we will talk about the ducks for a long time now and we will have to go back again with JJ so he can see the famous Peabody Ducks march the red carpet.

26 Weeks

I wish I was posting something a little more interesting, But we all ended up sick this weekend and didn't really do anything fun. So here you have the 26 weeks belly shot instead of some fun family activity.

Notice Lucy's necklace--she wants to be just like me with my necklace. Yes she wore both necklaces to church.

Lucy and her books, she is really into reading right now. She loves to have you just sit down and read her books. She also likes to pull them all off the shelf and look at the pictures by herself.

Finger Paint

Yesterday we painted with finger paint. I finally went and bought some on Tuesday. I really don't care for messy things but she loved it. As you can see I took all of her clothes off to prevent a bigger mess then just her fingers. She really didn't get that messy and she loved it. She already told me she wants to do it again today. She gets so excited to show her art work to JJ when he comes home.

The Finished Products

We picked up our finished ceramic pieces last night and I think they turned out really good. I did a speckled paint on the inside of my bowl that ended up not being as speckled as I wanted. But I think overall they look pretty close to what we wanted . I think JJ's speckled paint turned out really good on his plate.

Happy Valentines Day

We started off our Valentines Day with a family bike ride up at Shelby Farms. It was kinda cool and windy but it ended up fine. It was a little extra work riding into the wind at some times but it was good to get out and enjoy the day. I am thinking that this was my last bike ride for a while, with a growing belly it is getting a little hard to ride a bike.

Lucy got a new soccer ball--she loves it and had a fun time kicking it around the nice big fields.

Yesterday evening we went out to celebrate Valentines Day. It was so nice to go out on a nice date with just the 2 of us.

We went to Dinner at Texas Roadhouse, it was very yummy!

After dinner we went to Mississippi Mud Monkeys, Kinda like Color Me Mine for all you who know what that is in Provo. You go and pick out a ceramic piece and paint it. Then you go back in a couple of days and pick it up. JJ picked out a plate.

Here are our finished products, we will see how they look all finished on Tuesday when we pick them up. It was a really fun date night and we had fun spending time together.

Grandma And Grandpa Come to Visit

Monday afternoon my parents came down to visit us. It was fun to have them down and show them where we live. Tuesday we went down to the Civil Rights Museum. We were pretty much the only people there except a school group there on a field trip. It was a windy and rainy day but ended up being perfect for the museum.

After the museum we rode the trolley--yes this is our favorite thing to do.

For Dinner we picked up JJ from school and went to Central BBQ. This is our favorite place to eat BBQ in Memphis. We bring all our tourists here.

After dinner we went back to JJs school to show my parents where JJ spends his time. This is JJ's seat in class. He says it is the perfect seat because he can stretch his legs out and his seat is on the perfect incline.

We went into the clinic and Lucy showed Grandma and Grandpa all the things she has learned from her Dad. She loves to look inside JJ's eye.

Yesterday morning we went to the Botanical Gardens with our playgroup. We did the Caterpillar Club they have there. They had some really fun things there for the kids to do. We started by making a card with stamps.
We then made a Bee with a toilet paper rolls and some construction paper.

Then they decorated a pot and planted a flower. She loves her flower. She was so excited to bring it home and give it a big drink of water. We had a really fun day at the Botanical Gardens and look forward to going back when everything is blooming.

After dinner we decided to celebrate the February birthday's by making a cake and having ice cream. Happy Birthday everyone with a February birthday. My sisters Courtney and Lauren both just celebrated theirs. We were thinking of you as we ate our cake and we even sang Happy Birthday as we cut it. This morning the weather was so nice we went to the park and went for a nice walk before they had to head back home. It was so fun to have them come and visit! Lucy sure loves spending time with her Grandparents and she was so sad to see them go this morning. Come back Soon!
