Merry Christmas!!

Winter at The Zoo

Today the weather warmed up to the mid 50's--great for the week of Christmas . We decided to take advantage of the nice weather and head to the zoo. Lucy and Garrett both loved being outside and getting some fresh air.

Gingerbread House

Tonight we made our gingerbread house. It was fun! We enjoyed doing it together as a family.

Lucy kept sneaking candy--she would say she wasn't but you would hear her say, MMM these are good.

Hanging out Around the House

Garrett's new favorite thing to chew on is an apple slice from the fridge. Nice and cold and feels good on his gums.

Silly JJ
With all the cold weather here Lucy is getting some cabin fever. Today I decided to let her go outside and get rid of some energy! She loved it and kicked her soccer ball around for a while and then just ran around. She then laid on the slide and rode her scooter. Fun time--I then made her come inside because it is so cold and windy.

Friday night JJ and I were able to go out on a date---yeah!! We were pretty excited since we have only been out twice now since Garrett was born. A really nice family we go to church with offered to babysit our kids and we went and enjoyed a nice dinner just the 2 of us.

Hanging out at home

Garrett is one determined little boy. He is starting to scoot around a little bit. The other night he was rolling and scooting around on the floor and he saw his pacifier still clipped in the car seat. He made his way over there and put it in his mouth. So then until I noticed he just laid there next to the car seat sucking on his pacifier. He is getting closer and closer to crawling but I don't think we are ready for that yet.

An Award for Me!

Our local library has a really fun class on Friday mornings for Lucy and Garrett. They both love it and they have some really fun things there to do. Every week is different and we learn something different every time. But there are usually games, a story, songs and a craft. Today the instructor gave me a certificate of achievement--she has had it for a while since it is dated October 30th. I don't usually receive awards so I am pretty exited about it--I am not really sure what I did to get it, it isn't like it is a chore for me to take my kids to a class they both love.

Lucy really loves her things she makes, she is still playing with her Christmas tree and Panda bear puppet she made last week . I am glad there is something that we have to look forward to on these cold winter days to get us out of the house.

Oranges

One good thing about winter is oranges. I really enjoy oranges, they are one of my favorite fruits. I also love Clementines! So does Lucy . When she wakes up from her nap in the afternoon we love to sit together on the couch and have a clementine.

MMMM....Yummy!

Garrett loves this toy--almost as much as his little blue bear. He gets so excited when we put it in front of him. He loves to spin that little purple fish by his hand.

He also loves to hold onto those little toys that hang down--they help him when he starts to wobble.

I thought this was funny that Lucy set up Baby Sarah for a nap and took one of Garrett's toys to hang above her. I don't really know where she got the idea to do that because she didn't have a mobile and neither does Garrett.

Lucy and Garrett--they were being so silly when I was fixing lunch today and Garrett was laughing so hard at her.

We really haven't been up to much because it is really cold here. JJ is busy finishing finals and wrapping up the semester. We are looking forward to next week when he is done and we get to hang out as a family.

All Clean

I love bath time pictures! Garrett lately loves to suck on a washcloth while he is in the bath--I know gross but it probably feels so good on his little gums.

Garrett loves to sit up so we let him sit up in the bath tub the other night with Lucy. I still prefer to wash his hair and everything when he is in his little tub so I have both hands free but then he likes to play sitting up.
Lucy just gets so silly when the camera comes out.

I think this is such a funny picture of him because I don't have very many serious pictures of him.

I took Garrett to the Dr today and he weighs 20 pounds 7 ozs (75-95%) and he is 27 1/2 inches long (75%) and his head was 44 1/2 cms. He is a healthy average sized baby! We just need to work on getting him to crawl.

Time to go Home

Sunday we loaded up the car and headed home! It was such a nice trip and we had such a nice time visiting with family and celebrating Thanksgiving. While we were loading up Lucy and Olivia were running around and playing--perfect to get rid of some energy before getting in the car. I snapped a couple of cute pictures of them.

Those 2 are so fun. They are great buddies! To bad we live so far away. Thanks to Mom and Dad for a wonderful time and a great Thanksgiving. We had such a nice time away from home and now we are back into our day to day lives down here.
