Every Memorial Day our church has a tri-ward 5K run and picnic. We all participated in the 5K run this year. The kids were excited to run and have been practicing. I had a goal to beat my last years time but after the first mile my side started to hurt really bad. I was disappointed that it slowed me down but I ended up still beating my last years time by a tad. Lucy did awesome and so did Garrett. Lucy enjoys listening to her ipod while she runs and puts it in her little bag. She has turned out to be a good runner and enjoys running with me occasionally. Garrett has never run this far, we were impressed. He has some learning to do with pacing, he would run hard and then take a break. They had fun running and we were proud of them for participating. Craig ran well too, JJ walked with his mom and pushed Nolan in the stroller. Nolan was so cute and really wanted to run it. He even took off running from the start line but didn't last long before JJ put him in the stroller. Nolan got out and an across the finish line, it was cute! It is always so fun to be surrounded by friends and familiar faces as you run. Everyone is so supportive and cheers for all the participants. Its a fun start to the day!
