Basketball Saturday

This time of year it wouldn’t be a Saturday without some basketball.  Lucy’s team has been participating in a tournament in Pacific all week.  That has made for some late nights for her, it’s about 40 mins from home. We got up early to head to her game Saturday morning.  They played a great game and won.  That then gave us enough time to leave her game and go to Nolan’s game in Chesterfield, about 25 mins away.  I cheered on Nolan and JJ coached the team.  Nolan thankfully was able to play even with his smashed finger.  He was worried about it hurting but we just tried to keep tape on it.  At one point the tape fell off and he got scared and ran off the court.  We told him he had to stay on the court until a substitute could go in.  They won their game and were excited.  We sent Nolan home with a teammate who would drop him off for us since Garrett was home.  We are our lunch in the car as we headed back to Pacific.  Lucy’s team didn’t win their last game so they placed second in their tournament.  We were able to bring Lucy home with us.  We stopped at sams club on our way home and got home just in time for dinner.  It was a long day but it was fun to support and cheer the kids on.  I love watching them have fun doing things they enjoy.  These busy days don’t last forever.  I know I’ll look back at these days with fond memories.
