We were lucky to have so much family come in town for Labor day weekend and to celebrate my Mom's birthday. We suggested going to Broemmelsiek park for a picnic and canoe rides. We borrowed Jordan's canoe last year and had a really fun time with it. Our kids suggested it again and everyone was excited to join us. We found a pavilion to grill some hamburgers and hot dogs. There was a little playground right by the pavilion. It was perfect to have the kids playing so close. The cousins had a blast running around together.
After we were done eating we went over to the lake to put the canoe in. We took turns going out on canoe rides. The kids got better and better at paddling as the night went on. We all were able to have several turns going out. We also enjoyed walking around and pulling kids in the wagon. Jordan brought some fishing poles and his remote control boat. There were plenty of fun things to do together. It was also nice to sit on the shore and visit with everyone while we watched people in the canoe. The weather was perfect and watching the sunset was beautiful. It was such a fun evening and we are thankful Jordan shared his fun toys with us.
