Fall Festival

Friday night we headed over to the Fall Festival at the park close to our house. It was fun, it was just a small little fair with a couple of rides and a small town Rodeo.

We went with some friends and I rode a ride with Lucy and Caroline. I think we picked a pretty good ride. Caroline and I got water dumped on us every time the ride turned (it was kinda raining that night and has been raining most of the week). Lucy enjoyed the first 1/2 and then as the ride got a little higher and started to go a little faster she kinda got a little freaked out. She didn't cry, just got a really straight face and sat holding on the sides. I am glad I decided to ride with them because if Lucy would have just been on with Caroline she probably would have cried.

Here we are at the small little rodeo. A couple more of our friends joined us at the Rodeo in the rain and it was fun--we didn't stay for the whole thing. To bad it was such yucky weather.

Garrett thought all the lights were pretty cool!

Cupcakes

Earlier in the week we got together with our mothers group and decorated some cupcakes. Lucy was in heaven--she loves Candy Corn and I wont buy any for her. He had a great time picking out what to put on her cupcake and then eating it.

Here is a random Garrett picture--he found his toes and loves them. If he has socks on he gets so happy when you take them off.

Where else are you suppose to put a small rock?

After returning home from the playground we walked in the house and Lucy ran upstairs. I then heard shortly after a cry for help. She came downstairs where I discovered she had put a small rock up her nose. I tried to get her to blow out--she doesn't know how to do this and ended up sucking it in farther. I tried to reach it with a tweezers but it was to far up there. I then decided we should just head to the urgent care. When we got there and sat down I noticed it was coming down. JJ came down to help, luckily it happened at lunch time. By time he got there it looked like if we did have a tweezers we could probably just pull it out on our own. JJ tried and Lucy said she just wanted to Dr to do it. I then tried to get it by putting my finger on top of the rock to keep it from going father up. I then was just able to grab it and pull it out! It looked like a bean and was actually pretty big to stick up a nose of a 3 year old. I hope we have learned our lesson!

Buddies

I know I have said it so many time but Garrett and Lucy love each other! He loves to watch her and she loves to play with him. He laughs and smiles at her all the time. It is so fun for them to have each other. She was making him laugh so hard today after lunch it was so cute.

Family Time

Sunday after dinner we headed to the park to go for a nice walk and let Lucy ride her bike. She is getting better at it each time she rides. She is getting really good a braking. It was really impressive how fast she could go and she can peddle really good. It makes me remember how much I loved to ride my bike when I was a little girl. I spent hours riding bikes with my sisters, how fun for Lucy to have a bike to ride. I can't wait until Garrett gets a little older and we can put him in the bike trailer and go for a bike ride as a family.

Happy Halloween!

Lucy got a fun package in the mail the other day from Grandma Smith. She sent these fun window gel/clings. Lucy was so excited to put them on the windows. She keeps moving them around and playing with the stars, she now has a star family.

Here are some random pictures of Garrett in his exersaucer.
I think his little feet are so cute just hanging there.

Rice Cereal

This past week we started Garrett on Rice Cereal. He wasn't to impressed with it on the first day but since then he has really enjoyed it. When he sees it he opens his mouth really big and gets really excited.
Lucy thinks Garrett eating is really funny, she always laughs so hard.

Teton Trek

As members of the Zoo we were able to go have a sneak peak at the new exhibit. The Teton Trek, it was pretty cool. You can see the big lodge they built here in this picture behind Lucy.

Garrett enjoyed his stroller ride by putting anything in his mouth he could.
Here is one of the little bears

They were pulling up all the new grass
In front of Old Faithful

They had some nice fall decorations and such pretty flowers there

Relaxing

I thought they looked pretty cute down there watching the TV.

Growing Up!

Yesterday we took both Lucy and Garrett to the Dr for the well baby/child visits. We took Lucy a little late so we could take them both at the same time--which was great. We had a nice visit with the Dr and are glad to know they are both healthy and growing great.
Lucy is exactly 3 feet tall and weighs 29.2 lbs. She is growing up so fast. She was so brave at the Dr office. They had to poke her finger to take a little sample of blood to test her iron and she was so brave! She sat on my lap and then got a really cool band aid. She did really good during her physical and seemed to enjoy the Dr paying attention to her. She got a flu shot at her visit and it was interesting to see her thought process as she figured out what was going to happen to her. She didn't like that at all but was still brave and got another cool band aid. The Dr also suggested we start speech therapy for Lucy---I know she talks all the time! She has a hard time with some words that the Dr suggested we give attention to before starting school and having to deal with it later. Some examples of words she has a hard time with is "truck", "church" and "smith". We are glad to see the Dr being proactive about it and giving it attention.
She fell asleep reading "Where the Wild Things Are"

Garrett is growing so fast! We have so much fun playing with him and really enjoy him in our family! He is right on track for growth and the Dr said they normally double their birth weight by 6 months and triple it by 12 months. So he is right on track. He weighs 16 lbs 10 oz's and is now 26 1/2 inches long--he grew an inch in the past month. His head is 43 cm.
Here are his 4 month pictures.
We really enjoyed our visit with the Dr and I am glad we went back to their office--we had many thoughts about which Dr to go to down here. I tried a couple and I am glad we have decided with the one we did. I think he did a great job at checking the kids and making sure they are healthy.
