JJ turned 39 on Tuesday! The kids and I prepared for his birthday Monday by making homemade cinnamon rolls and a turtle cheesecake. We put up some decorations and wanted to do some simple things to make his day special. He made a special spin list for his class Tuesday morning with songs from 1981. His staff spoiled him at work and took him out to sushi for lunch. He really likes sushi but I don't so we don't ever eat it. They gave him some amazon money and he is already of thinking of ways to spend it. He came home early so we could go to Lucy's cross country meet in Warrenton together as a family. Lucy was excited to have all of us there to watch her run. She had a great run! We were able to cheer her on in a few places as we walked around to different spots. She had a good finish and pushed hard to not let the girl behind her pass her. JJ enjoyed being able to come and commented how fun it was to be there. We went home and had a nice dinner. I made some pulled pork in the crock pot and when we got home I just had to finish a few sides. It was so yummy and we were all stuffed. It was a beautiful evening so after dinner we went outside to play for a little while before having cake. We put all 39 candles on JJ's cake and he blew them all out so quick!. He opened up some nice cards that had come in the mail. We love JJ so much and are glad we were able to celebrate with him. He means so much to all of us!
