April Storytime

We had fun going to story time this past month.  Like always they learned about some fun things, read books and made cute crafts.  The first week we learned about lambs.  They made these cute lambs with cotton balls and then clothes pins for the legs.  It was really cute and it can stand up on its own with the pins.

The learned about astronauts, space and rockets one week.  Garrett really liked this week.  They made a cute rocket with little flames they glued on the end. Garrett loves to play with his rocket and count and then yell "Blast off" and then fly it around the room.

The had one week where they learned about bears.  They read the "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" and then other cute bear books.  They made this house out of a paper bag and colored the bears.  The bag folds so there is a pocket in the back to put all the bears and Goldilocks's.  It was a lot of fun and then you could play with it at home.  Thank goodness someone at the library spent a lot of their time cutting out all the bears and folding the bags so we didn't have to.

This week we read books about animal rescue.  All the books had some animals that had been rescued.  The kids then made books about all the animals we read about.  We colored and glued the animals into the book.  I helped Garrett color his animals and he glued them all in. It is nice because we can look at the book and recall the story that went with the animal.

The past couple of weeks Garrett has really gotten into playing on the computer at the library.  They have a computer station with games on it for the kids to play.  I had to show him how to use the mouse and he is getting better.  I don't think he has ever been on our computer at home, only played games on the ipad.  He really likes this Diego Safari game and had played it both times.  I could tell this week he remembered how to do some of the games and could play it almost on his own.
