24 Weeks

I had to put this one up too because I think Lucy is just so funny!
Here you are--24 weeks. I can tell I am getting bigger and picking things up isn't as much fun. Lucy still talks about her brother all the time and likes to show him things. She always tells strangers that her brother is in there. They have no clue what she is talking about. I ordered some clothes for him and they came this past week and Lucy keeps thanking me for them. She is so funny! I sometimes think that she thinks we are having the brother for her.

Family Day

We decided this weekend that we were going to spend more time as a family. Last weekend we were just to out and about doing so many different things that the weekend flew by. Monday came to fast and we felt like we didn't get to really do anything together. So we decided to get out and enjoy the nice weather. We headed down by Lake Arkabutla and did one of their walking trails. It was perfect and Lucy did a great job walking on her own.
One cool thing on our walk was this swinging bridge. Lucy loved being outside and together as a family. She kept picking up sticks, pine cones and gumballs from the ground. She brought a couple of them home with her.

After our walk we went to a really fun playground in Hernando, MS. It was really fun the only thing we didn't like was all the mud. It looks like they have some sort of wood chips on the ground but they were mostly gone and there was just alot of dirt and mud. It was a very fun playground other then that.

We had a really fun time spending the day together! We are looking forward to some more nice weather this week.

That's A Trim?

On Tuesday I heard the lawn guys out there blowing around the leaves so Lucy and I decided to go watch out the front window. I also noticed they were trimming my neighbors tree. I went out and asked them to trim ours back a little bit because it was scratching our windows and we had to duck under it to go around the front of the car. The guy said he would trim it for me and I went back inside. Lucy and I watched them trim a couple of small branches back and I was thinking perfect--much better. I told JJ they trimmed our tree and it looked really good. He came home that night and said I would sure say they trimmed our tree. I agreed and said I thought it looked good. We then went outside to get into the car and I saw they trimmed the whole tree!! There is not a single branch on the tree. I was shocked, our poor tree got a bad haircut! I don't know why they did it but I hear once it warms up it will start to grow again. I have noticed other trees like this in the area are also trimmed way back like this too. I just wonder why they didn't just trim all the trees in our neighborhood like this. They did it to a couple of other houses on the street so I don't know. I sure hope it grows fast, it looks so bare!
This was our tree in August right when we moved in. See how pretty it was!
Here is Lucy, she wanted her picture taken too.
Here are the rocks Lucy found while walking to the mail box. Every time we go outside she finds things like rocks and sticks. She loves them and is also thankfully very good about leaving them outside where they belong.

22 Weeks and 3 Days

Here is the growing belly--yes I know it is growing. I went to the Dr today and everything was good. Baby's heart beat was nice and strong. She pretty much had to pin the boy down to get a good listen. He is such a busy little boy in there he would barely stop moving long enough for her to hear. His little heart was racing from all the moving. She also said no kickboxing classes for me. JJs school has a kickboxing total body boot camp that I have been debating on taking. I asked her about it today and she said she would have to say no. Due to the fact there are alot of knee lifts and I could possibly loose my balance. I am kinda glad she said no --now I don't have to feel guilty about not doing it. So I will stick to my low intensity aerobics and pregnancy yoga for now.

Oh and Lucy talks to her brother all the time--it is cute and annoying all at the same time. Today at lunch she tried to feed him some of her lunch and made a chewing noise and said yummy brother ? I found it to be funny. She is so excited for him to come out and share a room with her.

Lucy and her Boots

Yesterday we were at Walmart and I saw these boots on Sale. With the snow and all I thought Lucy could use these--even in the rain. She LOVES them!!! She has barely taken them off since we tried them on in the shoe department. She even sleeps with them, not on but right next to her. This morning while I was in the shower she took her PJ's off and put her boots on. This is how I found her enjoying her show.

Snow Day!

Yeah our first--and probably only snow! I really thought we wouldn't see snow down here in Mississippi. Lucy was so excited to see the snow this morning. So we got ready as fast as we could and went out to play. We went for a little walk in the snow, Lucy loved to see her footprints she made in the snow.

Brrr--it is cold out here!

All the kids are off school today so they are all out playing. It is so hard for Lucy to hear them outside playing and not join them. It is just to cold for me to go out there for so long. Maybe when JJ comes home we will bundle up again and go wait for him to come home.

By Request

Many of you have asked about my favorite preschool/crafts for kids blog. Here is the link---http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/

This one is my favorite because I think her little boy is pretty close to Lucy's age and that makes most of the activities appropriate for her skill level. She also uses some simple things that with a quick trip to walmart I was able to stock up on some common craft supplies and have what you need for most of the crafts. Here is Lucy with today's art project--C is for Caterpillar.

Also some have asked what pizza recipe I use. I use a Betty Crocker one that I remember using all growing up. My mom still uses it and now I do. I like it because there is no thinking ahead of time with letting the dough rise and stuff like that. It also has very few ingredients and I always have them on hand.

Pizza Crust

2 Cups Flour

2 tsp. Baking Powder

1 tsp. Salt

2/3 C Milk

1/4 C. Vegetable Oil

Mix it all together and roll it out. I find a cookie sheet to be perfect size. I have done it on a circle one and the dough was to thick. It says to rub 2 TBSP oil on crust when rolled out--I usually don't do this step. I also make a bulk spaghetti sauce with all the yummy things like olives, sausage, peppers and then divide it up into freezer Ziploc bags. It works great with pizza and then the day I make pizza I set out my sauce and it is delicious! Enjoy

Pizza Night

Usually on the weekends we usually make either Friday or Saturday our pizza night. Last night was our pizza night. Lucy loves to help makes pizza. She is really getting to be a good little helper in the kitchen. You can always tell which pepperoni pieces she puts on because she pushes them down!
Some for me and some for the pizza is how the cheese works--I don't think you can see her pile on the counter top.
Yummy--Lets eat.

Whats Going On At Our House

Today has been a great day here! I think the main reason is the weather is just so great. My days are really dependant on the weather. It decides our days activities. It has been so cold here the past week that we just loved going out to play. We went to the park for a good hour and a half. Lucy made friends with a little girl almost the same age really quick and they had a blast. I had a blast talking to her mom--I need some grown up talk sometimes too. Funny how we end up talking about kids the whole time.
Lucy's hair is getting so long and fun! She sat still today (she was watching TV) so I put in a fun braid. This is her first braid in her hair. She thinks it is so pretty! I am sure we will do more.
Last week when it was so cold this is one of our little activities we did. I subscribe to a couple preschool blogs and love to get ideas from them. They are great ways to teach Lucy new things. We made an apple tree and talked about the letter A. Lucy is getting really good at learning her letters and colors.
A couple of weeks ago we started to introduce the potty to Lucy. We got a gift card for Lucy to Barnes and Noble so we got Lucy a potty book. She really enjoys reading and talking about going to the potty. We are practicing sitting on the potty and helping her understand how it all works out. I don't want to push her into it now so we are just taking little steps and we will see how it all works out. I am not 100% sure she is ready, we will get there.

In other news we have decided to rent a house from some 4th year students who will be moving in May. We will move in August when our apartment contract is up. We will be able to move in gradually since they will be out in May.We are really excited to be in a house again with a fenced in yard and a 2 car garage! We will only be moving a short distance from where we are living now so it will be an easy move for us. We are really excited!

Martin Luther King Day

We ended up down at the civil right museum after all yesterday. After saying we wouldn't think it would be a good idea to go down there, we thought why not? We heard they were going to have some fun things going on down there so we decided to go down.
We didn't go inside the museum, the line was a couple of blocks long. We just took advantage of some fun activities they had outside. Lucy made a MLK button.
She also colored a birthday cake for him and put it up on the big birthday cake with all the other colored ones.
We then decided to ride the trolley in the Riverside Loop. This is one of our favorite things to do now. Here we are waiting for the trolley--it was very cold and windy! Riding the trolley.

Here is the official 21 weeks! Only 19 more to go! I don't know if we are more excited or nervous about the arrival. I guess we know what we are getting into this time around.

The Eye Ball

Last night we went out on a date to the Eye Ball Dance . JJ's school put on the Dance (do you get it? Eye Ball?) It was fun to get dressed up and go out on a date. Here we are before heading out the door.
I thought I would squeeze in a belly shot here, Almost 21 weeks.
We went to dinner at Olive Garden before the Dance with the Williamson's and the Lambert's. Dinner was delicious and alot of fun.

Us at Dinner
Riley and Savannah Williamson
Amy and Raymond Lambert
After dinner we headed up to the dance. Here was are on the dance floor, as you can see there wasn't much dancing going on. We didn't stay very long, I didn't really want to be the only one dancing and it was late so we headed home.
It was a fun evening and I am glad JJ took me out! Lucy had a blast with our neighbors and I am sure didn't miss us a bit.
