Girls Night--Last Birthday Celebration!

Friday night I went out with some girlfriends to celebrate my birthday. It was nice to have it spread out a little and keep the birthday spirit one week longer. We started at Chili's where we all ordered yummy food and had a fun time talking--like girls do! It was fun to leave to kids behind and visit with friends.
Then some of us went roller skating, some of the others are pregnant or had to go home to nurse their babies. So it was nice to have 2 different activities to do with those who could participate. Roller skating was a blast, it was Jam Night at the roller skating rink and no doubt about it we were the oldest skaters on the floor. They played fun music and we had a great time skating for about a hour. I love to roller skate so this was a great thing to do with my friends.

Thanks girls for a fun night out together and also being great friends! I am lucky to have so many great friends who all love to go have fun together!

This morning I figured out the winners of my March Giveaway. So the lucky winners are

1. Scripture Case---Ashley Watt

2. Scrub--- Brittany Heiner

Congratulation, I hope you enjoy them!! Thanks for everyone who participated, I wish I had something to give you all.

Good Luck!

Today JJ starts his first part of National Boards. He has spent a lot of time preparing for the 2 days of tests. He has done a great job balancing the amount of studying and time with his family. We have tried hard to support him and all his efforts. As Lucy's knows it, today starts the "big test". Yesterday Lucy and I got some things together for 2 good luck bags for JJ. One for each day. They have a vitamin water, candy bar, apple and either trail mix or peanuts. We wrote a good luck note and put them in his car to find this morning. We know he will do great, Good Luck JJ!!

Lets Celebrate I'm 28!

We spread out celebrating my birthday all weekend long--and I am not even done celebrating. I still have one more celebration next weekend! We started Friday night by going out to eat at Red Robins for dinner. I got a free hamburger for my birthday so we thought it would be fun to head there as a family. We were up by crepe makers so while we were there we decided to get a crepe for dessert as well. It was a evening of yummy food!!

Saturday morning we went as a family to get donuts, it is one of our favorite things! We haven't been in a long time and a birthday is a great occasion to get some. I certainly celebrated by eating all my favorite things the whole weekend long. Saturday night we went out on a date. We had the Sullenger's babysit for us, and also borrowed their golf clubs. We went to the driving range and hit a few golf balls. We went a couple times in Provo and it was always fun to do. We are horrible golfers, but it was fun to do together. The weather was so nice on Saturday I am glad we picked something to do outside. After golfing we went to Lenny's to get a sandwich and then to the grocery store to get some things for Sunday dinner.
It was nice that my actual Birthday was on a Sunday. That way we could spend the whole day together. Especially with JJ taking boards this week he has been using any extra time he has to study. Since he doesn't study on Sundays I had the whole day with him! Here we are all together after church. I got a new dress for my Birthday so it was fun to have something new to wear. JJ got up early and made sure the Birthday decorations were all up for me--Thanks JJ! He also made me a yummy smoothie for breakfast along with a toasted bagel.
Sunday afternoon was pretty lazy I spent the afternoon painting my fingernails, talking with family that called to wish me a Happy Birthday and I watched a movie and ate popcorn. JJ and Lucy made my cake, frosting and dinner. Along with that he also cleaned up all the dishes and got the house ready to have friends over to celebrate.
Here is the yummy cake he made me, it was a chocolate cake (which I should add he made from scratch, with NO help at all!) with home made peanut butter frosting. It was supper good, just what I asked for. We even put all 28 candle's on the cake, Lucy told me there would be a lot of smoke.

After dinner we had the Watts, Bordners and Sullengers over to have cake and ice cream. It was fun to have some friends over to help celebrate and help eat all that cake. We had fun visiting with them and letting the kids play together.
I got a nice big deep breath!!
And blew out all the candle's, hope my wish comes true!
After our friends left we sat down as a family and opened up all the cards that had come in the mail and opened up a few presents. It was so sweet to see how excited Lucy was about my birthday. Earlier in the week she came to me and asked for some very specific paper colors, glue and asked me to write out Happy Birthday Heather for her on a scrap piece of paper. She made me a cute card with cut up pieces of paper and wrote on it "Happy Birthday Heather". It was so sweet and it turned out so cute. Lucy and Garrett also picked out some new lip gloss and fingernail polish for me. JJ said her first ideas for me were a new phone and a new play car, he talked her out of those and then she decided on the lip gloss and fingernail polish.

It was so fun to read and look at all the nice cards that came in the mail for me. I am so lucky to have so many great friends and family that remembered me! I also really enjoyed a card that my Grandma sent me. She wrote such a sweet note, she mentioned in there that she is learning to crochet. She said she isn't very good and has redone her first 3 rows several times. She is making some shawls for a church group who donates them to those who are in need. My Grandma says she hopes the person who gets hers is blind! She also said she still remembers the little Heather who always would say "it isn't fair". I don't remember saying that but apparently I do because my Dad told JJ that I use to say that all the time. I probably still say it but at least can understand why a little more as I get older.
JJ got me 2 new pairs of running/exercise shoes. I am so excited, I am kinda picky about the way they fit and everything so it is always a big deal to get new ones. I am also really excited to have some new good ones since they are the most worn items in my wardrobe. I can't wait to break them in!
Which ones to wear first??
I can't believe I am getting closer and closer to 30! Thanks to everyone who helped my day be special!

Garrett At The Zoo

Friday morning we went to the Zoo with Mothers Group. We had a nice time walking around and looking at the animals.
The panda was outside, it has been a long time since we have seen the panda outside.

Happy 28th Birthday Heather

Today is Heather's 28th birthday. We're really glad it fell on a weekend this year because we knew we'd be able to spend the time together as a family. I don't think she can believe that she's almost to the end of her twenties. She said to me that she's starting to feel like she's so much older, but the way I see it is that it just means that we've been able to spend more time together. Looking back sinse her last birthday, we've done some fun things. With Heather there are few days that we spend as a family that we're not off on some adventure having fun and taking pictures along the way.

Heather, I know that both the kids and I love having you in our family because you keep us moving. You are a true "doer", you get things done. Thanks for all your motivation that you share with us and all the fun that we have with you. We hope you have a great birthday and an even better year. We're looking forward to spending it with you.

We Love You- JJ, Lucy, and Garrett

March Giveaway!!

Yeah it is give away time!! This is the BIRTHDAY edition. Since it is my birthday tomorrow I wanted to give away 3 things--3 gift for you. I am excited about these, I have been wanting to do them for a while and it gave me a good excuse to do 3 small things to giveaway for my birthday. I got the Birthday give away idea from my friend Maren (only I think her give aways were way cooler then mine ) I think I will divide them up , so 3 people will win something.

First giveaway--a scripture case/cover. I love this, I love how it adds a little personality to the simple scripture covers. Originally I was looking to make one for Lucy and then it turned out to be easy and so cute I decided I wanted one and it would be a fun give away. I think the little flower print is cute for spring. I had some other fabric all picked out for this and spent a whole nap time working with it and it was a flop. So this is the other fabric that I had and I am really happy with how it turned out. Also this is made with lots of love and is in no way perfect! You just know I worked hard on this and I tried my best.

With sandal season coming up I made a scrub. I wish I soaked my feet more often and now having some scrub--it made 2 jars, maybe I will take the time more often to do it. I love to have cute toes in the summer and now I will add soaking and scrubbing my feet to the weekly toe nail painting.
The last thing--I love fun hair clips. Since I would say my most popular hair style as a mom would be a pony tail it is fun to add something like a little clip or pin to make it look like I put a tad more effort into my 2 minute hair style. They are fun--and were supper easy!
So since I am giving 3 things away just leave me a comment and I will just go in order. I will just take the first 3 numbers on the random number thing and then use 1. Scripture case 2. Scrub and 3. Pins. Good Luck!!! I think that they are all so fun and I am glad I get to do some giving on my birthday as well. I will give you until Wednesday to wish me a Happy Birthday and leave a comment.
And credit to where I got the tutorials.

Spring is Coming

For almost 2 weeks now we have had blossoms on the trees here. It was so weird because they seriously appeared over night. My Mom always told me that when she went into the hospital to have me it was winter and when she came out it was spring. It was that sudden of a change. I never really understood that until the blossoms here seriously appeared over night. Ever since we saw the blossoms we have wanted to make our popcorn trees again. We had fun doing them last year so we thought we would do them again. We invited Cara and Hudson to join us and had a fun morning together making our trees, playing and having lunch together. Lucy did hers completely on her own and she loves it, the yellow parts are daffodils.
--this year we painted on our trees and used hot glue to attach our popcorn, it worked much better!
The other morning JJ and Lucy were talking about how they were both heading to school that day. He then explained to her that he wouldn't be going to school for that much longer. Lucy asked what "will you do?" He said "I will go to work!" She said "oh at a Gas Station?" JJ kinda laughed and said "no, not at a gas station, I have gone to school way to long to go work at a Gas Station!"

Swimming

Friday evening we headed down to the Tunica pool to swim. We were the only ones in the whole swimming pool! We had a lot of fun swimming in the big pool and playing in the water in the small pool. It was so fun to watch the kids run around and play in the water. Garrett was fun to watch as he would figure things out and try new things. He had a blast playing basketball in the big pool with JJ. He got brave at the very end and would go through the spraying water but unlike Lucy who would just run around he treated the water as more of an obstacle course, dodging the water the best her could to get through.
