Memphis Zoo

Today we went to the Memphis Zoo. We were really impressed with it and thought it was a blast. They had some really fun exhibits and Lucy loved looking at all the animals. Here we are with the hippos. The tigers are all lounging in the background

The Polar bears, We really liked this exhibit and we had a fun time watching the bears play. It was fun for Lucy because she could get up close and see them.

The weather has been so great here the past couple of days. It is hard to think last weekend we got snow! Lucy had fun this afternoon after her nap playing with all the kids outside. She is getting really good at riding her tricycle.

More Family Fun on Spring Break

On Wednesday we went to the mounds in Memphis. It is right on the Mississippi. We walked around there for a little while and Lucy kicked her soccer ball. She mainly just wanted to run up and down the mound.

Today we headed to the park to go for a nice walk for some exercises, play on the playground and fly our kites.

Lucy was so excited to fly her kite and today was the perfect day to do it. She did a great job of holding her kite--she only let it go once and we had to run after it.

We had fun flying our kite too--I can't remember the last time I flew a kite.
This evening we headed to the mall to ride the carousel. Lucy had a fun time riding the horse and the cat on the carousel. We will have to do that again for sure.

Yeah For Spring Break

This week is JJ's spring break! It is so fun to have him here to do fun things with us all day long. Yesterday we started it off with trying a new BBQ place for dinner. We were told this is a must visit place here in Memphis (thanks Alicia) We went up to Germantown and ate at the Commissary. It was very yummy! It is hard to compare and rate all the BBQ here. For the most part they are all very good. They are all different in their own way. Some have some must have sides and others have must have ribs. JJ got the ribs last night and I got a BBQ chicken salad. That was some of the best BBQ chicken I have ever had. JJ said his ribs were very good, I asked him if he thought they were better then other places and he said they are all so different and all very good. We also ordered some BBQ nachos, which we heard were a must have here in Memphis. They were good--very heavy and the pork was not our favorite but they were good. We will have to try those at some other places too.

Yesterday we went to Walmart and JJ thought it would be fun to get some little matchbox cars with Lucy. They have been having a really fun time playing with Lucy's car carpet.

We have started to get some warmer weather here and Lucys winter PJs are just to warm . This weekend we got Lucy a nightgown and she loves to wear it!
Today we went to the Memphis Fire Museum. It was alot of fun for Lucy to see all the firetrucks. It was a very educational museum with alot to learn about fire safety.

Snow Day

Yesterday afternoon and last night we got our second snow of the season here in Mississippi. We heard it was going to snow maybe 2-4 inches but I didn't really think it would. I was a little surprised to see that it was actually snowing. We woke up this morning to this view out the front. We got a call early this morning letting us know that church was canceled. We thought it was kinda funny but have enjoyed the day being lazy and spending time together. It sure doesn't feel like a Sunday at our house and it sure doesn't seem like a appropriate way to start spring break this week. The back patio We took a little walk in the snow to get out and get some fresh air and enjoy the snow.
