Arkabutla Lake

Friday after JJ got home from school we decided to go on an adventure down to Arkabutla lake. We grabbed some Wendy's and headed down. It was really pretty down there and the weather was great. Here we are driving over the dam.

They had a bunch of great picnic areas and playgrounds. We will have to come back with some tin foil dinners and stuff for smores.

We then walked down to the Day Beach. You can see it in the background in the picture above. I think the lines in the sand are cool from all the rain we got last week. We will have to come back and swim next year.

Halloween Cards

I got this fun Halloween card making kit a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be a fun activity to do with Lucy. We did this while it was raining outside. I have to put my thinking cap on now that we are approaching the months were you can't just run outside and play everyday. I am sure looking forward to cooler weather but I hate thinking of things to do with Lucy inside. This however was a fun little project for her to do. She helped put the stickers on the cards. She loved the glitter glue it came with to attach the google eyes.

As you can see---Lucy really did put the stickers on all by herself. She did a good job, I would say ok these are the ears, where are the ears on the face and she would put them on. You may be lucky enough to receive one of these fun cards at your house!

Playing in the Rain

These pictures are from a couple of days ago but still very fun. We have had a couple cooler rainy days here in Mississippi. It has been nice and kinda fun to put on a pair of jeans for a change. I thought while it was only sprinkling that it would be fun to go out and walk in the rain. Lucy loves her little umbrella that we got for her and had fun using it to go out to the car to run errands.

She also thought the bugs were pretty cool to watch in the puddle.

3. Who said, "I love you" first? For sure JJ said it first, I definitely agreed! He did this whole I think I love you thing for a while, so I was pretty sure he was falling in love with me. I think we both knew we loved each other before it was ever said, we just wanted to make sure the other one felt the same way

6. Who is more sensitive? JJ, he cries way more then I do. He cried at our wedding and when Lucy was born. I am a rock as he says.

7. Who does the laundry? I do all the laundry but he for sure helps fold and put away.

8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Right now JJ does, we have switched sides a couple of times. Whenever we move we just see what feels best.

9. Who pays the bills? He does for the most part. I however have been making sure all the medical bills from my appendix are paid. I also have paid a couple bills here since you have to pay with cash and it is right next to where we live, So it is just easier for me to go pay it during the day

10. Who cooks more? I do for sure, I work very hard at having dinner ready and on the table by time JJ is home from school. I know it is not required but I think it is the best I can do for him since he is always starving when he walks in the door. I try very hard to plan out good meals and have a nice meal.

11. Who is more stubborn? I think for sure I am--I am always right.

12. Who is the first to admit they are wrong? JJ is--probably because he is, Just kidding. No he is just very good about apologizing and making sure everything is ok. (I am not because I am stubborn)

13. Who has more siblings? I do--there are 6 girls and 1 boy in my family.

15. What do you like to do together? We just like to spend time with each other-since that doesn't happen a ton we try to have fun with the time we have. I think we like doing just about anything. We like to be outside and be active. I think lately we really enjoy riding bikes as a family. Before we had Lucy I think we would have said something like go to the movies.

16. Who eats more sweets? For sure me--I love chocolate. Plus I am at home by all the sweets.

17. Guilty Pleasures? I think we both like to shop. We don't shop tons but I think we both enjoy new things every once and a while.

18. How did you meet? We meet in St. Louis while JJ was there selling Dish for the summer. I was there working at a Dentist office and going to school. We meet through a friend--it is kinda a long story. We ended up meeting at a singles activity and he got my number and we eventually went out.

19. How long have you been together? We have been together for 5 years. Married for a little over 4 and dating for a little over a year.

21. Who proposed? He did--even though I still don't understand parts of the proposal it was cute. He proposed to me on a bench we use to walk over to and sit and visit. There were some flowers there and I seriously thought they were for someone else and we were ruining it.

22. His best features and qualities? I think JJ is a very sensitive guy who works his whole day to make me happy. Everything he does he thinks about me and Lucy. He is very caring and loving and always wants to be happy. He strives to be the best person for me and for him. I know that he thinks about me during his day and can't wait to get home to spend time with me. He always compliments me and tells me how great I am. He has qualities that I don't have and I have qualities that he doesn't have. He is just a great guy! Everyone who knows him can tell that he is a great husband and father. I am glad he is part of my life and we can be together!

Firetrucks

Today our mothers group went to the firehouse. We got a tour of the firehouse and then we were able to look inside the firetrucks. It was alot of fun. Lucy was SO excited to go see the firetrucks. We talked about it all morning. When we got there she was very excited to see them, until the Fire dog Sparky came out and it kinda freaked her out. Then she was so nervous about the whole thing. I think the firetrucks in real life are just so much bigger then when they are driving down the road. We managed some good pictures and she warmed up a little bit.

The firemen were so nice, they took pictures for us and they had little goodie bags for all the kids. They also got this fun fire hat.

Playground Day

We have a great mothers group here in MS. We usually have about 3 activities per week and they are great (thanks Margaret). Tuesday is our park day and we change it up every once and a while depending on which park we go to. This week we went to a really fun park that had some ducks to feed.

After the ducks we went and played at the park --it was a blast.

JJ's Birthday Celebrations

After JJ got home from school we went out for some good BBQ, I don't know if we will ever have bad BBQ while we live here. We tried a new place called Corky's, it came with good recommendation. It was very good, JJ loved his ribs and pulled pork and I ventured with a stuffed baked potato with brisket. It was very yummy.

After dinner we had some friends over for some birthday cake and ice cream.
